It’s C&C in space and it’s fun. Like most space battle games, it is really a naval battle game in 2D. The traditional three sector map makes a bit less sense than in terrestrial ancient battles, but nowadays the system has so many cards that are not sector-dependent that it hardly matters. The ship miniatures are very nice (some were bent, though). If the red and green bother you, it’s easy to spray paint them in metallic colors and feel good about the result.
