The plastic camel pieces are hefty and nicer that expected. They seem to be solid plastic, not hollow. They have a slightly rubbery texture. The plastic pyramid dice dispenser is an upgrade from the old cardboard one. It's functional and reliable—no more stuck dice. The dice are a bit small and the plastic of the pyramid could be a bit thicker. Not a fan of the pop-up tree. It obstructs the frequently used betting spaces on each side of the board. When you're playing with 6-8 players, inevitably people will need to ask someone to put their card in the betting space because the tree is in the way. The game already has enough glitz and table presence with the beautiful art and pyramid shaker. The box insert works well. It holds everything in place, even when stored vertically or carried in a bag.

3-8 players w/ 2 player variant Betting play on: iOS App In Camel Up, up to eight players bet on five racing camels, trying to suss out which ones will place first and second in a quick race around a pyramid. The earlier you place your bet, the more you can win — should you guess correctly, of course. Camels don't run neatly, however, sometimes landing on top of another one and being carried toward the finish line. I keep hearing it's great for casual gamers and scales well at high player counts. Sounds like a good fit for my workplace playgroup. Also has a reprint on the way, which should hopefully lead to lower secondary market prices?

Some kind of racing bidding game. Very light. Probably I'd buy it if there wouldn't be a copy of the Hare and the tortoise on my self.
