Rallyman: DIRT is a brand new edition of the classic rally game by Jean-Christophe Bouvier. Get behind the wheel of a supercharged rally car, and race against the clock to get the best time around the different stages of a course! Rallyman: DIRT is a roll and move racing game, so to move around the track, you’ll be rolling dice! Each player will have a mixture of Gear, Brake and Coast dice at their disposal to get their car speeding along the track. Each die can only be rolled once per turn. Each die has a certain number of Warning symbols. If you get 3 in one roll, you’ll lose control of your car, increasing your time and potentially damaging your vehicle! Rallyman: DIRT is all about you and the track – planning the perfect trajectory is the key to success! You’ll have to adjust your driving technique to tackle the challenges of each stage, from sharp corners to open water, obstacles and bumps. This new edition combines the original Rallyman from 2009 with its expansion: Dirt. It features gorgeous new artwork and upgraded components, while including classic mechanics from the original game such as drifting, jumping, and cutting corners. R4 cars are based off of the most iconic of classic rally cars! They set themselves apart from both R6s and R5s not only with their timeless looks though but also with their driving styles. What they lack in horsepower they more than make up for in agility! As their name suggests, R4 cars only have 4 Gear dice. However, they have 3 Coast dice instead of 2, giving them a major advantage on tricky sections of track. Therefor whilst they’ll have a lower overall speed average they should be able to maintain 3rd and 4th gear quite consistently even on the most technical stages! Additionally, it shouldn’t be understated that 3 coast dice allow you to easily drift most corners in high gears too so you’ll find that, one again, despite the lower speeds R4s can cover distance quite quickly! Hillclimbing is very similar to normal rally racing, except that Drivers compete for the best time on stages featuring steep inclines, sharp turns and very few safety barriers at altitudes that can exceed 4000m (13 000 feet), making them some of the most dangerous events in the racing world. The kind of cars you’ll find powering up such death-defying tracks are also unique in their own right. These tend to be over 1000 horsepower, custom-made prototype cars that can take hairpin turns at over 60km/h (35 mph) and accelerate to speeds in excess of 250km/h (155 mph) at the drop of a hat. The R5 expansion brings with it not just some classic rally car models but also a fresh play style with all new strategies to devise for your races! As their name suggests, these cars only use 5 black Gear dice. However, they more than make up for it with the addition of a Boost die! This green die works like the opposite of a Brake die in that it allows you to skip a gear when accelerating instead of slowing down! Rallycross is a closed track, mixed surface race that uses specially modified rally cars. Races are short but intense and combine a lot of the hallmarks of both circuit racing (high speed, head to head racing) and rally (drifts, jumps and crashes!) into one explosive event. Of course, this makes it into the perfect base for a crossover between Rallyman: GT and Rallyman: DIRT! A rallycross race uses the closed track and head to head mechanics found in Rallyman: GT but includes many features from Rallyman: DIRT including drifting, shortcuts and jumps! It also features a brand new car category: the RX! RX includes 15 new tiles for you to use in Rallycross and normal rallies. However, with the rules included, all the tiles from GT, DIRT and all of their expansions become FULLY compatible so you can use GT and DIRT tiles not only in your rallycross events but also in your track and rally races too. This expansion contains: 15 New track tiles 3 Arch Standees LOADS of new Dashboards 5 Dice And, of course, plenty of tokens.
