Loved the original, I'll probably pick up both 1940s if I can find anybody to play with.

Sold without playing. Ken: Purchased on the strength of childhood nostalgia. Wife uninterested. Fiddly (particularly compared to other early purchases), and able to be sold for a significant profit. Quite frankly, blocks and chits appeal more than these sculpts, and present information in a much more player friendly way. Would be willing to play with the right group. No chance of future re-acquisition. Kathleen: I agree - wife was uninterested. At the time, early in my gaming experience, the game was entirely overwhelming - rules, board, components, et al. I would describe myself as unsure, now - the theme appeals, as does the gameplay, in theory. Would probably prefer a smaller version.

First impression favorable. . . except for T-34s for French armor and Panthers for Italian armor and Soviet BB for French BB . . . and the British still have Fletcher class DDs . . . nice big Stuka for the Germans, though. And interesting rules to bring additional powers into the war. Nice big areas to hold things, too.
