On June 27, 2008, Fantasy Flight Games Announced that this game will no longer be released in a blind-purchase format. On April 9, 2009, Fantasy Flight Games Announced that they will discontinue this game.

I don't know why I'm looking forward to this so much, but I am. Maybe it's my Siege of the Citadel envy. I'd love to see the rules because they--not the figs--will be key.

This is a strange beast. First, the weird design choices: - The game comes in a Kosmos-sized box, but the map is only a poster instead of a decent game board like you'd expect based on the box. - The cards are a decent Chinese imitation of Amigo card game quality, which is a very nice surprise. But they are not MtG-sized, like you'd except from a CMG. - The starter includes cards for all the units in the entire CMG, which is absolutely brilliant. But since the miniatures are significantly bigger than in every other game, you can't really use substitute figures from other games. The good: - The cardboard bits are sturdy. The dice are okay as well, even though they are of the usual American too-square-to-roll-well type. The bad: - There are very few different sculpts, and the miniatures are differentiated by paint jobs only. - The miniatures look quite cheap, and not that interesting.

I like the base set, it's a simple skirmish "light" tabletop. I definitely want a second base set and some more units... I will see in Essen this year, to get some cheap! from 2009-08-10 Edit 2014-17-09 Got my second base set..., still should look for some available "boosters". But not sure if somebody will play this with me anytime...
