In a dark and claustrophobic deep sea mining site, the uncovering of a mysterious “Sphere” is dragging everyone nearby into the endless madness. The fears deep within one’s mind are amplified and transformed into horrifying monsters from other dimensions, torturing one's body and testing their sanity. Only those with extraordinary will and conviction can escape its devastating grasp. Deep Madness is a fully cooperative board game with 66 amazingly detailed miniatures, depicting a sci-fi horror world inspired by Lovecraft’s work and the Alien series. In the game, players assume the roles of investigators, venturing into the seemingly empty yet perilous deep sea mining site to find out the truth behind the lost contact event. Unimaginable horror and madness from the dark fear within is waiting. Deep Madness is based on multiple scenarios from a continuous storyline. Each scenario has its own unique board setup, rules, special effects, and goals. From resolving fatal crises to struggling with overwhelming bosses, the investigators will face various quests filled with strategical decisions and fierce combat. With each scenario achieved, they are one step closer to the truth, but also one step deeper into the world of madness. Each scenario of the game plays in a limited number of game rounds, if the investigators fail to achieve the goals before the last round ends, the game is lost and everyone is consumed. Each game round consists of 4 phases: Devour Phase, Spawn Phase, Activation Phase, and Refresh Phase. In each investigator’s turn, it is crucial that the player chooses 3 actions to take wisely. Each kind of action has its own value, and every single decision could be life and death in Deep Madness. Unfortunately, the correct decision is rarely obvious. Moving, attacking, searching, exchanging items, locking the doors, and recovering sanity are the basic actions. Additionally, each investigator also has his/her own unique and irreplaceable abilities to activate. Different combinations of investigators provide distinctive strategies and game experiences. Monsters act according to its own action pool during its turn. In Deep Madness, monsters are highly characteristic, not just in stats, but also in abilities and behaviors. Different combinations of monsters provide unique challenges. And due to the intertwined activation mechanism, even different turn orders of the monsters make each game session different.

When the investigators first came to Kadath, they received a vision of a man intent on helping them defeat the terrors rampant in the mining facility. Little did they know that one of their only allies would turn into one of their greatest threats. This is The Oracle’s Betrayal, an expansion for Deep Madness. Oracle features three new investigators: the morally-driven detective John Murdock; the morally depraved psychologist Dr. Clarence Branom; and the star of the whole #justiceforhannah movement, little Hannah herself. New nasties include: the Victims: lost, fractured souls who only want to survive - and who the investigators start out Chapter One as; the Collectors: monstrous diving-helmet-bedecked servants who exist for one reason - to harvest fragments of souls and return them to their abominable master; the Dissected: creatures who might not always be as evil as their horrific appearance may at first hint at. And then, last of all, the horrific mastermind Dr. William West. The Oracle's Betrayal has several new mechanics tied in to some very unique scenarios. The fusion deck. Fusion cards work by integrating two investigators together. William's will, trial, and puppet cards. The puppet's goal is now to kill the other investigators while the investigators will be unable to win the scenario unless they kill the puppet.

The Faces of the Sphere expansion is actually the intersection between Deep Madness and its upcoming prequel, Dawn of Madness. In addition to being playable in DM, these figures will also be compatible with Dawn of Madness. When someone looks into the Sphere, when one is corrupted by its power, the abyss contained within it stares back. In it you begin to see your deepest fears, your darkest secrets, your potential realities. And then those things begin to come to life. The Sphere contains worlds; galaxies; universes. It is furthermore the key to other dimensions. And in one of those dimensions something has arisen. You could call it a reflection of the investigators' faces. For now, we'll call these beings Sphere Faces. Sphere Faces are not investigators. Sphere Faces don't necessarily exist to kill investigators or even make the game harder. Instead, they roam around the board and sow chaos wherever they go. Sphere Faces don't activate during the Activation Phase. Instead, they introduce a new phase to the game, called the Sphere Phase. During this phase, the Sphere Face creatures roam around the board, and new ones spawn in various devoured rooms. —description from the publisher

Deep inside the mine, the investigators have stumbled across something sinister. They have previously encountered fear embodied. They have stared into the depths of madness. They have even fought against a madman who sought to dominate their psyches. But how will they be able to defeat a demon born out of the darkness infesting their own souls? Dagon is coming. And he is not rising from the sea: he is rising from the filth inside your own mind. This is Rise of Dagon, a new expansion for Deep Madness. Rise of Dagon features three new investigators: the celebrity "single mother" who runs the Leng Corporation, Meredith Waite, her sheltered but oh-so-special daughter, Regan, and a strange writer who seems to have stepped right out of another century, Ward Phillips. Rise of Dagon is also populated with several new horrors. There's the Deep Ones: mutated, shambling creatures who were once men and women. There's the Hydras: High Priestesses of a dark, malevolent, and very present power. There's the Shadows of Filth: oozing, nightmarish beings who cling to their matching investigator like a bad rash. And then there is, of course, Dagon himself. Rise of Dagon features several new mechanics, both for good and bad. First of all, Rise of Dagon functions as an ongoing campaign. Search cards, infection cards, filth cards, infection tokens, and filth tokens are carried from one game to the next, and the three scenarios must be played in order. It is very possible to slowly lose your humanity throughout the course of Rise of Dagon. there's the new Domain and Enlighten mechanic. When you rest during Dagon, you will take a domain card. These cards are sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but often feature a trade-off: a positive effect for a negative effect. Once these cards are used they aren't discarded. They're just wiped clean, and you can build them again.

Deep Madness: Endless Nightmares is an expansion for Deep Madness. It was originally announced as three separate items, called Fathoms Dark, Fevered Dreams and Expectant Terrors. There is more to the story. There are other investigators descending to the depths. There are new monsters being birthed from the sphere’s roiling horrors. New chapters are creeping out of the darkness, and endless fresh nightmares are crouching in wait just out of sight. Endless Nightmares adds a whole new level to your Deep Madness experience. With three new standalone scenarios, six new investigators, nine new types of monsters, three new epic monsters and much more, Endless Nightmares will keep you submerged in Kadath’s depths for countless hours to come. Journey once more below the ocean’s surface. Step again into the uncharted night. They’re ready for you. And they’re so very hungry.

Epic monster pack for Deep Madness. It rises majestically before you, enthroned on its towering rocky seat. A scepter crowned with otherworldly fire burns like a maddening beacon in the night, its multitudes of thick, meaty tentacles coiling, curling, and whipping against the slimy, barnacle-encrusted stone of its dais. Staring in wonder at its magnificence, you can't help but sink to your knees. Tears well up over your eyelids and streak down your face. Reaching a hand up, you wipe them away and wonder briefly how your hands became streaked with blood. Around you the world shimmers and shakes, reality slowly fracturing as the king's court assembles from the cracks in-between the worlds. The creeping courtiers pantomime and cavort, their movements flowing into an eldritch play that would drive even the sanest person into gibbering fits. You begin to laugh, clapping your hands, as your face starts to harden. A symbol shimmers in the air: the sign of the king. As the courtiers collect you to offer you as a gift to the king, you realize that all of reality is nothing but a stage, and life a production of little more than sound and fury. Meanwhile the audience, beings beyond time and dimensions, look on in laughter and callous impassivity. As the king begins to feast you realize you desperately want to weep, but you can no longer move your mouth to make the sounds. Your face has become a rigid mask. Leaning down, the king removes it for you. —description from the publisher
